The person killed in a crash on State Highway 29 on Sunday, can now be named.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the single vehicle accident at around 6.20am.
A police spokesperson says the serious crash unit is investigating and will determine the cause of the crash.
Police have named Hayden Ayto as the man who died in the crash in the Lower Kaimai area.
Police say the 29-year-old was from Tauranga.
"Police extend their sympathies to his family and friends."
