Puzzling sign in Papamoa

According to the sign, it all started with one girl in West Auckland.

Now it's created something of a puzzle in Papamoa.

The professionally produced sign appeared last month and has left locals scratching their heads ever since.

It's directed "to the girl(s) whose heart I'm hurting" and the sign writer says they "have trouble recognising faces".

"I can't find you on my own, I need you to come and find me," the sign implores.

"So you know who this is from, this started in West Auckland."

The mystery deepens, however, as the unknown sign writer promises the "full story" is attached to the back, though when Stuff called there was just an empty folder.

However clues emerged to its content on social media, with one person claiming it had contained a 70-page "manifesto".

"About missed connection after missed connection."

Do you know anything about the sign?
