Tauranga courts locked down following threats

Two Tauranga courts have been in lockdown this morning following threats made to staff.

A police spokeperson says the Tauranga Family Court and Tauranga District Court were in voluntary lockdown for a short time.

"Threats were made to security staff at Tauranga Family Court on McLean Street around 9.41am.

"The lockdown is now over.

"A person of interest has been located and is assisting police with enquiries."
