Multiple police units have been spotted in Te Puke this afternoon.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says something has happened at the Te Puke Holiday Park.

'Police are inside the holiday park.

'Two ambulances were on scene with one leaving already.”

Detective Senior Sargeant Greg Turner says a woman has been admittted to Tauranga Hospital with a number of stab wounds to her torso following an unprovoked attack this afternoon at the Te Puke Holiday Park.

"A 37-year-old woman has been charged with wounding and is due to appear in the Tauranga District Court tomorrow.

"Police would like to thank members of the community who assisted the victim and contained the suspect until Police arrived."
