UPDATE (11.30am): Police are not commenting on why it despatched armed officers to Churchill Road this morning.
A cordon was enforced at the Waihi Road intersection with Churchill Road at about 10.30am.

The cordon is now lifted.

Does any one know what this was about yet? I live just around the corner and it's a little disconcerning.
