Car hits tree in Tauranga

A car has hit a tree in Tauranga this morning.

The crash has happened on Grace Road, between 13th and 14th Aves around 10.30am.

A reporter at the scene says the driver is being assessed by St John Paramedics and police are speaking with witnesses.

No other vehicles are reported to have been involved.

A police spokesperson says one person has recieved moderate injuries in the crash.

Police are investigating.

....we get to hear some reports about the drivers of these ever increasing 'single vehicle' events are being breath and drug tested...and subsequent action taken...?

another tree jumps out onto the road. along with the poles and road barriers. soon it wont be safe to drive on the road at all
