UPDATED 8.50AM:: Katikati College is closed this morning after a person was found dead on school grounds.
"Please keep students at home if they are not on their way yet," reads the post.
"All students who do arrive will be supervised in the Primary School Hall."
A police spokesperson says police can confirm they are attending the death of a young person on the grounds of Katikati College overnight.
"At this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious.
"The school has been closed for the day."
EARLIER:
Students who attend Katikati College are being told to stay home today.
In a post on Facebook, the college says the school will be closed today.
"Please keep students at home if they are not on their way yet," reads the post.
"All students who do arrive will be supervised in the Primary School Hall. Further information will follow."
A police spokesperson says police are attending an incident at the college.

My heart breaks for this family - and I send them all my love - for this child - for the school and its community - we need to start talking about this - our current policies are not working.
