Pursuit abandoned in Tauranga

Police are working on locating a driver following a pursuit in Tauranga this morning.

A pursuit was initiated when a driver failed to stop for police on Grange Road, Otumoetai, around 5am.

A police spokesperson says the pursuit was shortly abandoned.

'Police making enquiries to locate the driver.

'Fleeing driver events are typically abandoned due to the manner of driver, i.e. safety concerns.”

Anyone with information about the pursuit can either contact Tauranga Police Station on 07 577 4300 or non-emergency information can be called into the police's 105 number.

Alternatively, information can also be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.

this must be the only country that stops chasing crims. should do what they do in the usa. ram them off the road

unless the area is full of pedestrians the police should chase these crims down.Look at the amount of extra work our stretched out police have got to do
