UPDATE 10.36.AM: Lanes are now fully open along State Highway 2, near Bayfair following urgent roadworks.
NZTA says urgent pothole maintenance was taking place, and one lane was closed while that was carried out.
While both lanes are now open, motorists are still advised of delays while the traffic clears.

Urgent pothole maintenance is currently taking place along State Highway 2, near Bayfair causing delays for motorists.
A message to the SunLive Facebook page says it has taken them 30 minutes to get from Sandhurst Drive to the Baypark Roundabout.
'Due to urgent pothole maintenance, traffic management is in place at BayFair,” says the NZTA.
'Expect delays.
'Delay your journey or avoid the area if possible.”
NZTA are advising motorists to consider using Sandhurst Drive exit if possible.

Golly gosh, those potholes have been there for ages, HAVE TO DO REPAIRS WHEN its RAING, OF CAUSE, last week was nice weather, DAHH,this could have been done at noght ,for crying outloud, all those Trucks lined up to Africa,tryingto get to there jobs, the DOWN TIME is AWEFULL,Thanks No1, For News,being No1 is Better Still,Thankyou, 10-4 out. phew.

In other countries this type of work is carried out at night when the roads are empty- how long till good old NZ wakes up and does the same to save the stress of unnecessary traffic jams during peak hours?...
