Welcome Bay Road reopens following crash

UPDATE 9.38AM: The road has reopened following a crash in Welcome Bay this morning.

A SunLive reporter at the scene says traffic was backed up past Addline Transport, along Welcome Bay Road while the road was closed.

'The road was shut while they removed the vehicle.

'The road is now open and the road is clear.

'It seems it was very minor.

'Traffic was quite heavy while the road was closed. It is now easing.”

A police spokesperson says the crash appears to have involved a rolled truck.

"The driver sustained minor injuires and the scene has been cleared."

EARLIER:

People are reporting traffic delays in Welcome Bay this morning.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says there is a slight traffic build up on Welcome Bay Road, near the roundabout.

Another caller says emergency services are at the scene of a crash on Welcome Bay Road, near Rocky Cutting Road.
