The Otanewainuku Kiwi Trust has launched its 2019 photo competition with some great adventure prizes and a category for younger photographers.
Photographers are invited to submit photos taken at Otanewainuku over the past year in various categories including fauna, flora, people, landscape, volunteers and an under 16 section.
The competition is only open to amateur photographers who stand to win adventure prizes from some of the Bay of Plenty's most iconic adventure companies.
NZ Riverjet has provided a scenic blast on the Waikato River, Rotorua Canopy Tours; the original canopy tour, Rainbow Springs a park entry and tour, Rotorua Rafting; a Kaituna River rafting trip, Bay Explorer an island and wildlife tour and Skyline Rotorua a family gondola ride with luge trips as well.
Trust acting chair Bruce Fraser says the competition was a great way to focus people's attention on such a wonderful piece of untouched native bush situated in the Western Bay of Plenty.
'We've seen more and more people visiting Otanewainuke over the past year and know that many of them take photos when they're there so this will hopefully recognise the efforts and encourage others to visit,” he says.
The NZ Photographic Society is helping with the judging and entries close on September 29.
