Powerball player wins $18.2 million

It will be a day of celebration for a lucky Powerball player from Whangaparaoa after winning a life-changing $18.2 million with Powerball First Division in Saturday night's live Lotto draw.

The winning ticket was sold at Gulf Harbour Four Square in Whangaparaoa.

The $18.2 million prize is made up of $18 million from Powerball First Division and $200,000 from Lotto First Division.

Four other Lotto players from Auckland, Taupo, Wellington and Christchurch will also be celebrating after each winning $200,000 with Lotto First Division last night.

The winning Lotto tickets were sold at Paper Plus Taupo in Taupo, Pak N Save Kilbirnie in Wellington, Pak N Save Riccarton in Christchurch, and on MyLotto to a player from Auckland.

Meanwhile, Strike Four rolled over last night and will be $300,000 on Wednesday night.

This year is shaping up to be a lucky one for Powerball players, with Powerball First Division being struck 15 times in 2019 to date – and the year is far from over.

Eighteen Lotto players will be enjoying a boost to their bank account after each winning $16,650 with Lotto Second Division in last night's live Lotto draw.

Three lucky players also won Powerball Second Division, taking their total winnings to $23,074. The winning Powerball Second Division tickets were sold at Pak n Save Blenheim in Blenheim, Winton New World in Winton, and on MyLotto to a player from Hawkes Bay.
