Reports are coming in of a power pole being down in Papamoa this morning.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline say a power pole and power lines are down on Simpson Road.

"Firefighters are at the scene. It looks like the lines are down on the road."

According to Powerco, there are no reports of power cuts in the area at the stage.

A police spokesperson says police are attending following a report of a car crashing into a powerpole on Simpson Road around 6:30am.

"There are no reports of injuries.

"The power company has been notified. There is a report of the pole blocking the road."
