Major traffic delays are affecting people heading along State Highway 2.
A woman who is caught up in the traffic says it is really bad, especially for this time of the day.
"I know traffic on State Highway 2 is bad, but for this time of the day it is really bad for it to be backed up from Bethlehem to Te Puna."
Google's Life Traffic reporting shows delays on the highway.
On the other side of the Western Bay, Te Puke Highway is closed following a serious crash.
Emergency services are dealing with a crash between a truck and car near the AFFCO Freezing Works.
People are advised to expect delays.
