Bridge repairs are causing traffic delays on Takitimu Drive this morning.

A caller to the SunLive hotline says traffic is crawling along Takitimu Drive at around 10 to 15kmph.

'One lane is blocked off where the road splits to go to Mount Maunganui or Fifteenth Avenue.”

SH29 Kopurererua Bridge Maintenance is being completed today, says the NZTA website.

"One lane will be available during the works.

"Consider using alternative route. A 30km/h temporary speed limit will be in place for the duration of the works."

Another caller who travels on the road everyday, says roading contractors have only just done works in the area not so long ago.

"To me it looks like they are doing the same thing they did before. I could be wrong, but it's in the same place as last time."
