Police are continuing to investigate the cause of a fatal crash in Tauranga.

One person died following a collision between a truck and motorbike at the intersection of Koromiko Street and McCord Ave in Judea.

Emergency services were called to the crash at 9.50am on Monday.

"One person was taken to hospital seriously injured, but sadly has since died," says a police spokesperson.

"Koromiko Street was blocked while emergency services attended the scene, but reopened in the afternoon.

"The circumstances of the crash will be investigated."
