Tauranga Civil Construction firm Jason Mather Construction - JMC - will become the front of jersey and major sponsor of the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union referees for the next three years.

JMC owner Jason Mather says becoming the major sponsor of Bay of Plenty rugby referees is part of JMC's core values of giving back to the community.

'We are involved with many worthy charitable organisations but few organisations have the reach and touch as many people in our community as grass roots rugby and the volunteers associated. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with BOPRU and the community as a whole.”

BOPRU CEO Mike Rogers says the alignment with JMC is brilliant.

'JMC's community focus mean's we can continue to grow our referee numbers, continue to up skill them, and all round provide a better rugby spectacle for our rugby loving community.”

Bay of Plenty Rugby referee's provides voluntary officials in sport without any expectation of praise or reward. The Bay of Plenty Rugby Referee pathway caters for new recruits to such as Bryce Lawrence who was a 2011 Rugby World Cup Referee.

Referee's manager Paul Greenstreet says is pleased to have JMC as their major sponsor for the next three years.

'Our thanks to Jason Mather and JMC for their significant contribution to our sport. We will be doing our best to give our front of jersey sponsor duly warranted exposure by way of quality performances from all our local referee's.
