Magic secure long awaited first win

The Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magics are today reeling from their first win of the season following four consecutive losses.

The Magic fought hard to secure their first 61-52 win of the ANZ Championship in last night's match against the Canterbury Tactix in Rotorua.

The Magic are no longer at the bottom of the netball table in the ANZ Championship.

The win comes as a relief to Magic fans, who prior to Monday's triumph, watched the Magic hover at the wrong end of the netball table – the only team in the competition yet to win a single game all season.

The Magics have now surpassed the Tactix, who take the Magic's place at the bottom of the table.

But they still have a long way to go if they want to secure a semi-final place in the championship, which coach Noeline Taurua is still hopeful of doing.

'We're a bunch of fighters, we never give up.”
