Tauranga rugby double win

Tauranga Rugby & Sports Club celebrated two victories on Saturday, winning both the finals of the 2020 Farmlands Cooperative Western Bay Premier Men's tournament and the Premier Mens Development tournament.

Tauranga Sports put up a good battle against Te Puna to get the win of 32-26 and claim the Charles Hardy Memorial Cup. Tauranga Sports Development won with 38 points to 13 against Judea, receiving the coveted Charlie Whetumarama Kakau Memorial Cup.

The games were live-streamed with people watching from the Chatham Islands and Australia.

Te Puna Rugby Football Club (Senior): Te Puna lost to Greerton Marist Recreation & Community Sports Club: Senior Reserves in their 1pm match with a final score of 17 to 30.

Katikati Rugby & Sports Club: Katikati scored 45 points against Tauranga Rugby & Sports Club Inc : Tauranga Sports Reserves's 10 points in their 2.30pm game.

Also playing at 2.30pm were Papamoa Rugby Club: Papamoa which lost to Eastern Districts Rugby & Sports Club: Eastern Districts with a final score of 20 to 30.

Currently, Tauranga Rugby & Sports Club Inc : Premier are at the top of the Premier Men (Western Bay) scoreboard with a total score of 32. Te Puke Sports & Recreation Club : Premier are two points behind with 30 points. Coming in third place is Te Puna Rugby Football Club (Senior): Premier with 22 points, closely followed by Rangiuru Sports Club: Rangiuru Premier with 21 points.

Tauranga Rugby & Sports Club Inc : Development is leading the Premier Mens Development (Western Bay) scores with a total of 32, well ahead of the next team, Rangataua Sports & Cultural Club : Development with 24 points.

Katikati Rugby & Sports Club: Katikati leads the WBOP Senior Reserves (Western Bay) with 34 points, followed closely by Eastern Districts Rugby & Sports Club: Eastern Districts with 32 points.

Next Saturday, in the WBOP Senior Reserves games, Greerton Marist Senior Reserves will play Tauranga Sports Reserves at Greerton Park at 1pm. Eastern Districts will play Te Puna Seniors at Paengaroa Domain at 1pm, and Papam

Next weekend's Farmlands Co-operative Eastern Bay Men's Premier final and Central Bay Men's Development final have been confirmed, with EBOP Men's Premier Finals: Te Teko v Opotiki, 2‪.00pm at Dunderdale Park, Teko; and CBOP Premier Development Final: Whakarewarewa v Ngongotaha Hawkes, ‪1.00pm at Puarenga Park, Whakarewarewa.
