Part of Mauao's Oruahine track will be closed on Wednesday.

The track is expected to be closed from 7.30am to 3.30pm to allow for routine pest plant control, but will be weather dependent, says a Tauranga City Council spokesperson.

"The partial closure is important to ensure visitor safety, as the area scheduled to be worked on has the potential to dislodge rock debris onto the track.

"Signage and barriers will be in place to manage the closure.

The Waikorire, Base and 4WD tracks will remain open.
