A high level of online support is expected this afternoon as the Steamers play Taranaki in their opening game of the Mitre 10 Cup season.

Bay of Plenty are current holders of the Chiefs Country Cup and the Peter Burke Trophy, with both up for grabs at today's game, which kicks off at 2.05pm at the TET Stadium & Events Centre in Inglewood.

Unfortunately due to COVID-19 Level 2 restrictions, no crowds will be permitted at the stadium, however the game will be available to watch live on Sky Sport 2 (channel 52).

The Steamers flew to Taranaki on Saturday, face masks in place, to be ready for the match today.
