Emergency services are responding to a report of a serious crash on Omanawa Road in Bay of Plenty.
The car versus pedestrian crash was reported around 1.40pm, says a police spokesperson.
"Initial reports indicate one person has sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and have been taken to the hospital.
"Traffic appears to be manageable for now. "
Motorists are warned to expect delays while emergency services deal with the scene.
A resident in the area says the road is closed due to the crash.
