There have been four new cases of Covid-19 reported in New Zealand today, all in managed isolation.

In a statement, the Ministry of Health said the number of active cases is now 44, which were all imported.

Two of the new cases arrived from South Africa, via Dubai, on September 29. They were given an additional test due to previously identified cases on their arrival flight, and tested positive.

The other two cases arrived from Iran, via Dubai, on October 5 and tested positive around day 3 of their managed isolation.

All of the new cases are now also being transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility.

The total number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus is 1514.

No one is in hospital with Covid-19 in New Zealand.

Yesterday New Zealand's laboratories processed 4814 tests, bringing the total number of tests to 996,955.

There were two cases reported yesterday, both in managed isolation.

In today's statement, the Health Ministry also asked for supporters at Sunday's Bledisloe Cup match to play it safe.

There are no longer restrictions on events or gathering sizes at alert level 1.

The Ministry said if anyone planning on attending the game was feeling unwell, they should stay at home.

"Anyone unwell should call Healthline, your GP, or Nurse Practitioner for advice about whether you need to get tested and where to go to get tested.

"Use the NZ COVID Tracer app to check in on all public transport (including buses and trains) or keep a record of the times and route you took to get to the game.

"Sign in using the NZ COVID Tracer app upon arrival at the stadium and take note of your seat number. If you do not have the app keep a record of when you arrived and left the game.

"Practice good hygiene by washing or sanitising your hands regularly, particularly upon entering and leaving the stadium. Sneeze or cough into your elbow.

The Ministry said these measures would help to minimise the spread of Covid-19 if community transmission returned.

If you have symptoms of the coronavirus, call the NZ Covid-19 Healthline on 0800 358 5453 (+64 9 358 5453 for international SIMs) or call your GP - don't show up at a medical centre
