Katikati Lions are holding their monthly garage sale in the containers behind Caltex in Katikati this morning.

The day begins with some low morning cloud lifting and fine spells increasing, along with light winds.

Katikati Lions are holding their popular monthly garage sale from 8am – 11am at the containers behind Caltex in Katikati. Come along, find lounge suits, beds and household goods while supporting local organisations.

Vegan Vibes is back for 2020. Now into its fifth year, the Bay of Plenty's first dedicated vegan festival will be showcasing a curated selection of vegan food, food products, body and leisure products, fashion and footwear from around NZ. There will also be guest speakers, workshops, giveaways, music and entertainment. The event runs from 10am – 3pm at Soper Reserve at Mount Maunganui. For more information click here

There's plenty of rugby on today at Tauranga Domain with Bay of Plenty playing Canterbury being the main highlight. The curtain raiser game will be between the FMG Boys Rural XV and Thames Valley Rural XV teams kicking off at 11.45am on field 1. Bay of Plenty Toa will be also playing at the Domain over on field 2 at 12.00pm in what will be their final game of the season against Counties Manukau U20. Bay of Plenty play Canterbury with kick off at 2.05pm.

Also at the Incubator Creative Hub is the exhibition ‘Diverse Marks' by local creative stitch artists, Liz Wilson, Pauline Shilton, Jo Ann Ingram and Linda Inglis and ceramic artist Anya Fischer. Gallery is open from 10am – 3pm.

Come and enjoy the workshops at Re:Maker, with the community of makers, located at Our Place in Willow St.

Come and help look after one of our historical houses and gardens today at a working bee at Brain Watkins House and Museum at 223 Cameron Rd, from 10am – 1pm. Help is needed with trimming, weeding and planting in the garden, cleaning in the house, and sorting in the garage. More information here

A perfect activity as well as of high interest to all - the STEM ‘Discovery' HQ is open today from 10am – 3pm at the Goddards Centre, 27 Devonport Rd, Tauranga and is dedicated to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. STEM HQ brings educational entertainment with a play and learn environment that makes way for sparking curiosity and exploration. Featuring six separate exhibit zones and a ‘feature zone' that changes weekly, there are activities you'll want to keep coming back for. Exhibit spaces include a Space Zone, Sponsors Exhibitor Zone, Light Zone, Engineering Nook, Earth Science Zone, and Mini Maker's Station.
