Kiwis will get a glimpse into the life of Mount Maunganui lifeguards in a new show set to air on TV Three next year.

Bay Patrol, which will be shot in Tauranga this summer, will show daring beach rescues set on New Zealand shores.

Following lifeguards and first responders from Mount Maunganui, viewers will see them put their lives on the line to keep the visitors of one of our most prestigious coastlines safe.

Bay Patrol is more than just a rescue show - offering 'unprecedented insight” into the daily lives of these life-saving heroes, says a statement by Media Works.

"As hundreds of thousands of Kiwis flock to the beautiful Mount Maunganui to enjoy their Christmas and summer holidays, we will get exclusive access to the first responders working to keep the holiday town safe, by executing the most daring and heart-wrenching rescues. "

Media Works television general manager Glen Kyne says Bay Patrol will join the list of 'favourite local shows” that air on TV Three.
