Young archers on the mark

Tauranga archer Jake Scott is one straight shooter showing his line of precision at the East Coast Bay of Plenty Archery Association Rose Bowl where he won first place in the 25metre line section.

Scott was one of 42 archers competing from six different clubs in the Bay of Plenty; Tauranga, Rotorua, Mercury Bay, Gisborne, Riverglade, and Whakatane in the competition in Tauranga at the weekend.


Archers compete at the East Coast Bay of Plenty Archery Association Rose Bowl competition in Tauranga at the weekend.

These 42 archers made up 11 teams competing for the Rose Bowl Cup, and 11 single archers competing in the 25 metre line and the 14 metre line.

Two other Tauranga archers, Lennox de Bruin and Bethany Whiteland, placed in their sections at the competition on Saturday, May 19.

Lennox placed second in the 25 metre line and Whiteland placed third in the 14 metre line.

The Rose Cup Bowl was won on Saturday afternoon by the Gisborne 1 team consisting of Stephen Mann, Chris Underdown, and David Croskery.
