Extravaganza of fun at TECT Park‘s 10th birthday

Santa will be arriving to celebrate ten years since the TECT Park was opened

It's the ultimate fun fest today for the TECT Park tenth birthday celebrations.

There is an extravaganza of free fun, entertainment, activities and birthday celebrations.

In the fun zone during the day are face painting, bouncy castle, a kids' activities and storytime corner, pony rides, Santa's forest grotto, food trucks and live music as well as the opportunity to meet Spider Man and Elsa from Frozen. Some of the activities are free and some require a gold coin donation.

Other activities include a guided nature walk, the Mud Dog Run, and mountain bike rides with Sport BOP.

A free bus service from Katikati, Te Puke and Tauranga will run enabling people to come for the day from 10am – 3pm or for the night from 7pm – 10pm. Park shuttles will also be available to get around the different areas within the park between 10am and 2.30pm.

Sports clubs that call the park home will also be opening their doors to the public for have-a-go activities and demonstrations.

Groups that use the park for their activities will be demonstrating or providing activities during the day. All demos are free to watch, and some are doing ‘have-a-go' activities for a small charge. Clubs that use the park are NZ Blue Light Ventures, Lions Club Tree Grove, BOP Clay Target Association, Model Aircraft, BOP Bee Keepers, Tauranga Pistol Club, Tauranga Airsoft Club, Adrenalin Forest, Tauranga Motorcycle Club, Motorsport BOP, Waikato Offroad Racing Club, Bay of Plenty Four Wheel Drive Club and Paintball.

From 10am until 3pm there's the annual Mud Dog Run, bouncy castle, pony rides, face painting and more – Santa Claus is also due to arrive in style.

From 7pm to 10pm kick back at the night show with family and friends and enjoy a laser light show and a big screen showing of Kiwi legends Six60's sell-out Western Springs show. Entry to the night show is free, with a bus service also available from Katikati, Te Puke and Tauranga,.

Pack a picnic, grab a chair, torch and some cash and join us at TECT Park for an evening of entertainment in the forest!

Did someone say mud?! Western Bay Council have teamed up with Tauranga City Council for this free event guaranteed to see you get muddy and explore the Park.

Short run 2.5km and long run 6km. Race starts at 11am. Please arrive in plenty of time before the start time to register.
