Power remains out to properties in Pukehina after a vehicle took out a power pole earlier this morning.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash on Pukehina Parade around 1am.
A police spokesperson says one person was moderately injured.
Photos posted to social media show the pole has been snapped off near its base.
According to the Powerco website, power remains off to 188 properties across Te Puke and Pukehina.
There were multiple other outages across Western Bay of Plenty this morning, including in Brookfield and Ohauiti.
A SunLive reader messaged SunLive on Facebook to saying there was a loud bang in the Brookfield area around 4.30am.
Damaged equipment was blamed for the power outage in Brookfield, which affected 779 properties.
No cause was listed for the power cut affecting 226 properties in Ohauiti and the additional 215 properties in Brookfield.

How often do we see wide open spaces littered with power poles that have been strategically placed to attract bad drivers. Maybe they've been magnetised.

I hope this person is prosecuted to the fullest extent. Not surprised that this was a nissan skyline, as favoured by boy racers.
