BOP fatal stabbing victim named

Police have released the name of the man who died following a stabbing in the Bay of Plenty.

Thirty-one-year-old Jamaine Wharton died after following a stabbing in Waiohau near Whakatane on February 28.

A police spokesperson says they were called to an address in Waiohau at 2am.

'Police are following lines of enquiry and want anyone to come forward who may have witnessed the incident,” says police.

'We encourage anyone to contact us immediately with any information which can assist with this investigation.

'The investigation into his death is ongoing.”
