In the light of the welcome decision by our new leaders to defer that to-be legalised piracy, the ETS, one wonders if our home-grown traders, denied the spoils, anticipated, dealing in the illusionary 'commodity”, (smoke and mirrors?) are now reduced to beans on toast, or making down-payments on new vehicles befitting the purveyors of moon beams and star dust.
Who knows, with the breathing space provided, for whatever reason, and in line with some of our more pragmatic cousins across the ditch, plus the increasing number of European doubters the Kyoto cult will finally join the Flat Earth and similar myths.
So you see; even in these trying times, there's always something to look forward to.
Frank Smead, Mt Maunganui.
