Crash causing delays on Te Puke Highway

A crash is reported to be causing traffic delays on Te Puke Highway.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says two vehicles have crash on the highway, near Manoeka Road.

"Police are at the scene.

"There is a lot of debris on the road. People should expect delays or avoid the area."

A police spokesperson says they were called to the crash at 7.25am.

"It appears to have involved two vehicles. One person reportedly has serious injuries and one moderate injuries.

"It looks like the road was blocked but towing has been organised."

St John confirm they received a call at 7.21am to a motor vehicle incident on Te Puke Highway.

'One ambulance responded to the scene,” says a St John's spokesperson.

'St John treated three patients, two in a minor condition and one in a moderate condition.”

The patient in a moderate condition has been transported to Tauranga Hospital.
