SH2 reopen after serious crash

Police are responding to a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 2.

The crash occurred at 8.45pm this evening near Minden in the Western Bay of Plenty.

St John confirms they attended a traffic incident on SH2. In a media alert, they confirm at least one person has suffered serious injuries.

Waka Kotahi NZTA advised last night of a serious incident on SH2 but confirms the road is now open after previously being shut between Snodgrass Road and Te Puna Road.

The crash follows a separate incident on SH2 earlier today in which a car crashed into a tree. Two people were taken to hospital in a serious condition after the incident near Clarke Road, which happened at around 2.30pm.
