Additional locations of interest identified

Pak 'n Save Papamoa is one of the three new locations added this afternoon.

Three new Bay of Plenty locations have been added to the Ministry of Health's location of interest website this afternoon.

This comes after the MOH reported five new Covid-19 cases in the BOP today.

Of these cases, four are linked to existing cases in Mount Manganui. Investigations are underway into any possible links between the remaining case and any known cases.

This afternoon's new locations of interest include the Welcome Bay Pharmacy, Pak 'n Save Papamoa and BP Connect Tokoroa.

A Ministry of Health spokesperson says it is critical that anyone with any cold or flu symptoms gets tested as quickly as possible – maintaining a high rate of testing in the Bay of Plenty will help to contain the spread of Covid-19.

Earlier today, 11 locations were added to the Ministry of Health website as places where Covid-19 positive people had visited in the Bay of Plenty.

These included BP Connect Mount Maunganui, Putaruru Mini Mart, Coupland's Bakeries Rotorua, Countdown Bayfair, Kmart Rotorua, St Pierre's Sushi Rotorua, Zest Bakery and Café Greerton, Buff Hair and Beauty Tauranga South, McDonalds Tauranga, Rotorua Pak 'n Save and Bayview Roast and Fish and Chip Shop Tauranga.

The Ministry of Health asks visitors to these locations to self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days after exposure at the location.

"If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result and until 24 hours after symptoms resolve," they say.
