Santa caught up in new locations of interest

More Tauranga and Te Puke locations of interest in the Covid-19 outbreak have been announced including Santa Magic at Tauranga Crossing as a 'location of interest', and one of Tauranga's top city cafés, a takeaway place, two gyms and a tavern defined as 'close contacts'.
Anyone who was at any of the five ‘close contacts' locations during the times recorded are being treated as close contacts and must self-isolate, get tested immediately, then tested again five days after exposure.

Due to a confirmed Covid-19 case visiting them on Wednesday December 15, the popular Cafe Demitasse, a Tauranga city café on Cameron Rd has had to close until further notice as it is now listed as a 'close contact' location.

"Per MOH requirements all staff are isolating and waiting on test results," says a Cafe Demitasse spokesperson on their Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.

"After being contacted by MOH this morning regarding a confirmed Covid-19 case, we will be closed Monday & Tuesday (20th & 21st Dec). We will update you further once we have more answers in the next day or so. Thank you for understanding."

The five ‘close contacts' locations are:

  • Cafe Demitasse on Cameron Rd, Tauranga on Wednesday December 15 from 12.58 pm – 2.20 pm
  • Welcome Bay Takeaways on Wednesday December 8 from 6.45pm – 8.30pm
  • Judea Tavern, 35 Koromiko Street, Judea, on Saturday December 11 from 11.30pm – 1pm Sunday December 12
  • TGA BOX Health & Fitness Tauranga in Judea on Thursday December 9 from 5.15pm – 7pm
  • Tauranga Boxing Gym Judea on Wednesday December 8 from 5.15pm – 7pm.
For anyone who visited these 'close contact' locations at the given times, the advice from Ministry of Health is to self-isolate, test immediately and test again on day 5 after you were exposed at this location of interest. Further isolation and testing requirements will be provided by Public Health.

Self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for ten days after you were exposed to the locations of interest. If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result.

The original suggestions were that the Aucklanders would bring Covid to the BOP holiday spots !! Seems to me that the Aucklanders may be looking at taking it back to Auckland after their BOP holiday !!
