Motorists who use State Highway 2/Takitimu Drive are being warned expect delays.

The Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is doing major resurfacing and drainage work in the area.

"Th work will be conducted between 15th Ave and Elizabeth St," says a statement from the roading agency.

"Day and night work will be conducted. One lane will be availiable in both directions at all times.

"The Waihi Road/Takitimu Drive on-ramp and off-ramp (Koromiko Street) will remain closed during the works, with detours in place

"A 30km/h temporary speed limit will be in place during the works. Expect delays."
