Police are responding to a single-vehicle crash in Ruatoki in which serious injuries have been sustained.

The crash has occurred on Ruatoki Valley Road and involves a motorcycle.

The incident was reported to police at about 2.30pm.

'Initial indications are there are serious injuries,” says a police spokesperson.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
