Despite nearby roads being closed due to the Mount's multisport event, Tauranga City Council are inviting the community to join the Marine Parade Coastal Path project team at the open day today from 10am to 3pm at the reserve area between Pacific Avenue and Banks Avenue.

Council say the team will be answering any questions the community has about the project to extend the Marine Parade boardwalk from the Mount Cenotaph to the Oceanbeach Rd roundabout.

The Mount Festival of Multisport is on today, resulting in many road closures. The Mall (Pilot Bay) will be closed from 6am Friday to 9pm Saturday. Oceanbeach Road and Pāpāmoa Beach Road up to Parton Road will be closed from 4.30am until 1pm. Marine Parade and Adams Avenue will be closed from 4.30am until 5pm. The Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road (TEL) eastbound lanes between Domain Road and Paengaroa will be closed for the cycle leg of the event from 6am to 1pm on Saturday. Motorists are advised to take the Te Puke Highway as an alternative route.

The 2022 Ruegg Construction BOP Junior Tennis Tournament is on Saturday and Sunday from 8.30am - 3pm at the Otumoetai Tennis Club. Some and support local junior tennis players.

The sold-out much anticipated T20 Black Clash is on today at Bay Oval. Gates for the Black Clash open at 4.30pm with the first bowl at 6.30pm and the action expected to conclude around 10.30pm.

The TAG team are holding an exhibition at The Peoples' Gallery - Toi ka rere at Tauranga Historic Village. The TAG team is made up of a group of artists that have at some point worked at Tauranga Art Gallery. This is their second group exhibition. Opening hours are 10am - 2pm on weekends and 10am - 3pm on weekdays.
