The Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Secondary Schools first fifteen competitions, resume on Saturday after the holiday break, with just three rounds remaining before the play-offs.

The Division One title is up for grabs with all but one team in genuine contention.

Otumoetai and Opotiki Colleges along with Trident High School sit at the top of the standings, however Bethlehem, Mount Maunganui, JPC and Taupo Nui A Tia who all have a game in hand, lurk just off the pace.

The top of the table clash between Otumoetai College and Trident High School should attract a big band of followers in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

The Eastern Bay team made the early competition running, but tasted defeat in the last round before the holiday break, when narrowly beaten by Opotiki College 25-21. The Otumoetai sole loss came when JPC prevailed in round two.

Taupo Nui A Tia could have a real battle on their hands when Mount Maunganui College travel to the Great Lake region.

The Taupo School, who were the real improvers of the first round competitions, will remain in title contention if they beat the Western Bay visitors.

John Paul College host Bethlehem College in Rotorua, with Opotiki at home against Western Heights High School.

This season's surprise package has been Tauhara College from Taupo.

They lead the Division Two title race with an unbeaten record and will look to continue their winning streak, against Katikati College in the Western Bay of Plenty.

Aquinas College, who sit comfortably in second place, will be heavily favoured to improve their standing, when they play Tauranga Boys College thirds at Tauranga Boys headquarters. Edgecumbe College travel to Reporoa to play the home school with Te Puke at home to Whakatane.
