Police have drawn back from a standoff with protesters at Lambton Quay in Wellington after concrete blocks were installed at several streets around Parliament earlier this morning.
Police drew back a short time after the blocks were installed at Lambton Quay, moving back to the back entrance of Parliament.
Protesters followed police as they walked back up Bowen Street, and some have remained at the blocked off entrance on Museum Street.
On Aitken Street earlier a line-up of police and protesters faced off across blocks.
Protesters were "yelling hold the line", and "keep it peaceful".

What the hill is with that? What a bunch of disgusting animals. In fact even animals don't do that to eachother. ABSOLUTE FILTH. These Police are only doing their job according to what is directed from the top. How the hill can you stoop so damn low to be that disgusting. There is absolutely no excuse whatsoever. To the Officers, I totally apologize for the behavior and assaults from these shite slingers. To Coster, I guess de-esculation and talks are working well in your opinion. When are you going to stand up for your men and women at the coal-face. Enough is enough. You deem biological warfare as ok toward de-esculation? Absolutely Shocking and appalling.
