Covid-19: MOH reports two deaths

Two people are reported to have died after contracting Covid-19.

The Ministry of Health is reporting 2365 national case numbers, 42 being in the Bay of Plenty.

The number of people in hospital has increased to 116 and the Ministry of Health states there are two Covid related deaths in Auckland.

"Sadly, we are today reporting the death of a patient at Middlemore Hospital," says a spokesperson for the Ministry.

"The family has requested that no further details be released and, out of respect for those wishes, we will be making no further comment.

"Additionally, we are also saddened to report the death of a patient in their 70s at Auckland City Hospital following a diagnosis of CovidD-19.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with both patients' family and friends."

Every time a death is reported by MOH they say the relatives want privacy surrounding the death. Interesting???

I hear you but the relatives are entitled to full privacy of their loved one. No hidden agenda here.
