NZTA advise that State Highway 29A will be closed on Saturday afternoon from 1.30pm until approximately 3pm while emergency tree maintenance is completed.

"Due to [a] falling tree between Oropi Road and Cameron Road eastbound, emergency maintenance is required," says an NZTA spokesperson.

The affected section of road is between Oropi roundabout and Barkes Corner on SH29A.

"The road will be closed from 1.30pm until 3pm approximately."

Motorists are advised to delay their journey or follow the detour.
