Reports are coming in of police cordons on Fraser Street this morning.

A SunLive reader has emailed saying police have blocked off Fraser Street, between Merivale and Landview roads.

They says armed officers are diverting traffic.

A police spokesperson says the cordons are in relation to a pre-planned police operation.

"We will provide further details when available."

People are advised to avoid the area if possible.
