United States tsunami warning centres are reporting no tsunami threat following two large earthquakes occurring overnight around the Pacific rim.
The two earthquakes occurred in Peru and near the Loyalty Islands early Friday morning.
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.2 occurred in central Peru at a depth of 212km, at 12.02am NZT on Friday May 27.
