It was a splendid weekend of fine weather for Bay of Plenty rugby with the Eastern Bay of Plenty finals played out in Whakatane and the Baywide Premier Men's semi-finals over in Western Bay of Plenty.

Congratulations are in order for Whakatane Marist who are the 2022 Farmlands Co-operative Eastern Bay Division 1 champs.

Whakatane Marist Senior A won against Opotiki Senior A with a final score of 29 -20. Their match was played at 2.45pm at Rugby Park Whakatane: Field 1, with referees Finney Davis and Sean Moore.

Also in the Eastern Bay of Plenty finals, in the Senior Reserves division final, Opotiki won against Ruatoki with a final score of 41-14. The game was played at 1pm on Field 2 at Rugby Park, Whakatane with referee Finney Davis..

The EBOP Division 2 final between Galatea/Waiohau and Taneatua which was played at 1pm on Field 1 at Rugby Park, Whakatane was won by Galatea/Waiohau with a final score of 32-22. Referee was Dean Andrews.

In the Baywide Premier Men's Semi Finals on Saturday July 16, Mount Maunganui went up against Whakarewarewa, and Te Puna against Greerton.

Mount Maunganui Sports Club Inc Marlins Premier won against Whakarewarewa Rugby Community Sports Inc (Senior) Whakarewarewa Premier with a final score of 52 – 16. The half time score was 23-11 to the Marlins with the winners working hard to secure their strong lead at the finish. The match was played at Blake Park: Sir Gordon Tietjens with kick-off at 2.45pm, refereed by Jaco Brouwer.

Also playing at 2.45pm at Maramatanga Park: Field 1 was the semi-final between Te Puna and Greerton Marist.

Te Puna Rugby Football Club - Te Puna Premier won with a final score of 25 - 15 against Greerton Marist Recreation & Community Sports Club - Greerton Marist Premier. The half time score was 15-8 to Te Puna, with Andrew Morton as referee.

In the WBOP Senior Local Semi-Finals, the results are Mount Maunganui 20 v Greerton Marist 10, and Te Puna 60 v Katikati 3.

In the Baywide Colts Final Round Robin Mount Maunganui lost to Tauranga Sports with a final score of 17 – 45.
