At about 8pm on Monday, August 13, a woman was struck and killed by a train near Allardice Street, Dannevirke.

Her next of kin have now been advised.

The deceased is Barbara Jane Gawn, a 52-year-old woman who had recently moved to the Dannevirke area.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the coroner.
