It's a frosty start to the morning with Tauranga recording 3C at dawn, although it felt more like -1C.

WeatherWatch.co.nz says a frost risk exists again tomorrow morning, but the risk retreats a little further away from coastal spots.

"Then finally on Sunday morning a risk presents itself again but this time it's further inland.

"By Monday morning even though it will be a bit cold to start frosts should just be avoided for most apart from alpine areas."
