Emergency services are attending a crash involving multiple vehicles on Maunganui Road this morning.

A police spokesperson says they were notified of the incident around 7.55am.

'One person is reported to be trapped and emergency services are working to extract them,” says a police spokesperson.

'Initial indication is that the person is seriously injured. The road is currently blocked and traffic management is in place.”

Traffic appears to be moving very slowly in the area, according to Google Maps.
