A power outage is being reported in Tauranga's CBD this morning.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says power is out on Willow Street.

"I assume it's the entire street. There are lots of people out on the street looking around."

According to Powerco, the power company in charge of the power supply for Tauranga, power went off in Tauranga at 9.14am

The website states there is a site investigation underway into the cause of the outage.

Powerco estimates the supply will be back on around 1.15pm.
