The Bay of Plenty Steamers are advancing to Christchurch today, preparing to go head-to-head with Canterbury on Saturday for the National Provincial Championship semi-finals.

SunLive caught up with Steamers prop Pasilio Tosi and lock Zane Kapeli before they took off on their journey, who say 'nothing will be left on the table” at the upcoming match.

"Canterbury is at the top of the table, they're a hard team to beat because they've always been at the top. I feel like we've got nothing to lose, them being at the top of the table, they've got everything to lose," says Tosi.

"The boys are heading down there with cool heads and ready to just go in."

Kapeli says the team is ready to give the upcoming game their all.

"We're going to leave nothing on the table, and leave the with no regrets."

On reflection of the Bunnings Warehouse NPC, Tosi says the highlights have been "having fun, getting better, and enjoying each others company".

"We're not going to have the same crew next year, so we're just enjoying these last few weeks we have with each other," says Tosi.

In regards to training at towards the end of the NPC, Tosi says there has been a short turn around between sessions and games.

"We had a couple days off after Sunday's game. There's a few bruised up bodies, but as bruised of the bodies are the heart is still there."

With the finals looming, the Steamers or Canterbury are set to go against the winner of the Auckland and Wellington game.

When it came to who the pair wanted to go against the most, Tosi had one simple answer.

"Anyone. It doesn't matter who it is, we'll take them on.

"We're looking at this as another week of footy and enjoying each others company, but we're ready to do a job on them this weekend."

The Bay of Plenty Steamers are set to play their next game against Canterbury on Saturday, October 15, at 7.05pm at Orangetheory Stadium.
