Emergency services are attending the scene of a vehicle that has crashed through a retail shop frontage in Papamoa.

A SunLive reader is reporting that a car has hit the Postie Papamoa building at Papamoa Plaza, smashing through three glass panels.

The front half of the car is inside the shop.

Police say emergency services were called to the Papamoa Plaza after receiving reports at 12.55pm of a person having driven their vehicle through the front of the Postie Plus shop.

It is understood that the driver is currently with ambulance staff and being attended to, but is not seriously injured.
